Pandora is one of the encrypted communication apps reportedly used by criminal groups to avoid detection by authorities.
This app offers high security through message encryption and may include features that automatically delete messages after a certain amount of time.
Criminal groups often prefer such platforms to communicate without the risk of their conversations being intercepted, or used as evidence against them.
The "Pandora" application was part of an international operation coordinated by EUROPOL and other authorities, aimed at destroying the criminal activities of structured groups.
In the context of this operation, authorities have decrypted encrypted communications and used advanced analytics to track criminal activities.
During the investigations, networks involving fraud centers were discovered and destroyed, which used technological tools for illegal activities, including large-scale fraud and other serious actions.
In some cases, these investigations involved decrypting the data and communications of criminal groups, leading to the seizure of electronic devices and other materials that were part of the illegal activity.
On April 18, 2024, the international operation named "Pandora" revealed criminal activities in several countries, including Albania and the Balkan region, where organized criminal groups are involved.
This operation focused on destroying fraud networks and other illegal activities, including the use of encrypted technology to hide communications.
In Albania, with the help of the German, Belgian and French authorities who have decrypted applications such as EncroChat and Sky ECC, it has brought movement to the doors of SPAK.
The decryption of these applications has helped arrest many members of criminal networks and destroy their operations in Albania.
