New details have been released regarding the serious incident aboard a Flydubai plane traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, where the co-pilot is suspected of attacking the captain with a knife during a fight in the cockpit.

The plane, a Boeing 737 MAX with about 180 passengers on board, was forced to divert and made an emergency landing at Tabuk airport, in Saudi Arabia.

According to passenger accounts, cited by Israeli media and The Sun, the incident began after screams were heard from the cockpit. Shortly afterwards, passengers noticed blood and learned that the captain had allegedly been stabbed by the co-pilot.

Several passengers and crew members reportedly intervened to help neutralize the person who allegedly attacked the captain.

The situation escalated at a critical moment in the flight. Tracking data shows that the plane lost more than 14,000 feet of altitude in less than 30 seconds, causing panic and alarm among passengers.

The plane first transmitted the emergency code 7700 and then the code 7500, which is used in cases of hijacking or unlawful interference. After the alarm signal, Israeli fighter jets took off to escort the plane.

After landing in Tabuk, passengers described chaotic scenes, with people covered in blood and great tension on board. One witness said that for a few moments, passengers thought they would not make it off the plane alive.

Flydubai and Israeli authorities have confirmed that the diversion to Saudi Arabia came after a physical altercation between two pilots.

The full circumstances of the incident, including the suspected motive for the attack on the captain, remain under investigation.

The plane landed safely in Tabuk, and all passengers are reported to be out of danger.
