After losing 130 million euros in arbitration against Italian businessman Francesco Becchi , Edi Rama's government will be forced to pay another 13 million dollars to another company after losing a trial in arbitration.
A US court in Washington has ruled that the company Omni Bridgeway has the right to seize Albanian government assets after winning an arbitration case worth $13 million.
"A federal judge in Washington, DC, agreed to allow litigation financier Omni Bridgeway to seize assets belonging to the Albanian government as the latter seeks to enforce an arbitration award now worth about $13 million," US media report .
Edi Rama's government has ignored such a decision for years, while now the Washington court gives the green light to confiscate the assets of the Albanian government.
We recall that this also happened in the case of Beketi, who initiated the seizure of Albanian accounts at Eurocontrol.
The initial arbitration award against Albania was issued in 2020 by an arbitration court in Switzerland.
The arbitration bill that Albania must pay due to Edi Rama's whims exceeds 200 million dollars.
Meanwhile, there are other processes for which there is still no final decision.
