Employees up to the age of 29 and parents with children under 18 will pay less tax. The new government initiative, presented by the Minister of Finance Ervin Mete, aims to tax their salaries less.
"If a young person up to the age of 29 is going to be employed, we will allow them to have a deduction from their tax liability just because of their age, in order to encourage their employment.", as we will allow a deduction special exemption from tax liability for children in foster care under the age of 18, because of course someone who receives an income and has 1 or two dependent children is not in the same position as someone who receives that income and has no children in charge", Minister Mete said yesterday.
Minister of Finance Ervin Mete also showed how much and when the salaries will increase for teachers, nurses, doctors and the rest of the public administration.
"With the salary increase that will take place in June, the education sector receives the greatest support from all other sectors, with nearly 110 million euros going only to salaries in the education system. The cumulative increase in the last 2 years alone ranges from 35% to 60% for teachers. Of course, this translates into a better quality education, which is an investment for us in the human capital of young people and the future citizens of Albania", added the minister.
Meanwhile, the Ministry is currently discussing the increase of the salary threshold that pays 23 percent tax, from over 200 thousand lek which is currently in order to bring it to 250 thousand lek.
