The price of oil in Albania only increases: Will the Transparency Board return?

The price of hydrocarbons in Albania during 2026 has fluctuated, while it is reported that currently oil has again experienced a significant increase in cost, as today it is shown at 219 lek per liter in retail sales.

Oil in the Albanian market has increased by 4 lek from what it was a few days ago, when it was traded at 215 lek, making it currently sold at 219 lek per liter.

The Albanian Confederation of Industry, on August 3, requested immediate intervention in the trading of hydrocarbons, given the situation with the continuous increase in prices.

She demanded a 15% reduction in the price of oil, which translates to 20 lek per liter, as well as the reinstatement of the Transparency Board.

Socialist MP Erion Braçe has also reacted several times, demanding that measures be taken.

But so far there has been no intervention to address the situation of high hydrocarbon costs.
