The progress of inflation according to Eurostat's methodology has been stable even during the month of July. The annual change measured according to the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices in July this year was 2.5%, at the same level as in June.

Meanwhile, inflation according to the Instat methodology, resulted in the level of 2.1% for the second month in a row, during July. According to Instat, the biggest increase in prices, of 4.1%, is observed in the group "Educational services", followed by the groups "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" with 3.6%, "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" with 3%, "Clothing and shoes" with 2.7% and "Furniture, home appliances and maintenance" with 2.4%. "Transport" and "Communication" had the smallest impact with 0.3% each.

Meanwhile, the monthly change measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices is down by 0.2% and was influenced by the price reduction of the groups "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" and "Entertainment and culture" by 0.7% each.

On the other hand, the prices of the groups "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" and "Furniture, household appliances and maintenance" increased by 0.4% each, followed by the groups "Clothing and shoes", "Educational services" and "Hotels, cafes and restaurants". with 0.3% each, "Communication" and "Various goods and services" with 0.1%.

And while the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (CPI) in our country remain unchanged for the second month in a row, in the European Union and the Eurozone there is an increase in inflation to 2.8% and 2.6% respectively for the month of July.

These data may suggest an external inflationary pressure for our economy in the following months, at a time when the Bank of Albania intervened in the market by lowering the basic interest rate to the level of 3%.
