The Albanian Road Authority is preparing the tender for the rehabilitation of

About 130 million lek will be made available for the rehabilitation of the old Fier-Vlora road. The Albanian Road Authority has prepared the public procurement procedure, which is expected to be opened in the following weeks, as will be the tender documents, which will specify the concrete interventions that are expected to be carried out. The development of this tender comes after the one 2 years ago, where about 792 million Lek were made available for the same road axis for its rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, about a year ago, the works were completed, where after the interventions, the axis was shortened by 5 kilometers from Fieri to Vlorë, removing the dangerous curves along this road. Also, the entire segment was widened and paved, making available to citizens and tourists an alternative route to access the south of the country.

The old Fier-Vlora axis has a length of 31.2 km, while the passage of vehicles through it was significantly reduced, after the construction of the Fier bypass. However, before the intervention that ended last year, the residents of the area had repeatedly demanded rehabilitation due to the degradation the road had suffered.
