23-year-old Mikea Zeka , who shot and killed his fellow Albanian, Kasem Kasmi , by shooting him with two bullets in the heart and lung and leaving three others who were with the victim injured, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The prosecution had requested a sentence of 30 years in prison ( 20 for intentional murder, 3 years for each of the three attempted murders plus another 1 year for unlawful possession ).

His sentence was reduced by one-third of the reduction allowed by the summary judgment, to 20 years.

And, if the defendant does not appeal, he can receive a further reduction of 1/6.

Zaka was accused of firing at least six shots from the 7.65 caliber pistol he was illegally carrying at Kasmi, who died, while the other three, the victim's brother, Ervin Kasmi, and brothers Klevin and Alvider Hidraliu, were seriously injured.

The incident occurred in March 2024, Mikea Zaka was at Shake Bar with some friends when he was approached by the victim's group, Kasem Kasmi.

The 27-year-old had double-parked his car and headed towards the boy's table with three other people.

They began to argue and in a split second Zaka pulled out his gun, shooting at them and killing Kasem Kasmi.

Immediately after the murder, the group left, but was stopped by Frosinone Police officers.

Mikea Zaka later turned himself in. He said he shot in self-defense and that he had had conflicts with Kasem in the past because he had started dating the victim's ex.
