Albania named the happiest country in the world! Here's where it ranks

Finland tops the list of the happiest countries in the world for the eighth consecutive year.

According to the World Happiness Report 2025, other Nordic countries, such as Denmark, Iceland and Sweden, also took the top spots. The ranking was based on the degree of happiness felt by citizens of different countries.

The happiest places are:

1. Finland

2. Denmark

3. Iceland

4. Sweden

5. Netherlands

6. Costa Rica

7. Norway

8. Israel

9. Luxembourg

10. Mexico

Afghanistan (number 147) is again last on the list. They are followed by: Sierra Leone (number 146), Lebanon (number 145), Malawi (number 144) and Zimbabwe (number 143). Albania is ranked 89th.

The report examines parameters such as GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.

The United States fell to 24th place, its lowest ever, while the United Kingdom is in 23rd place, with its lowest average rating since 2017.
