Deadline for vacating public spaces expires, Balluku: IKMT's action begins
Belinda Balluku

The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, announced that starting this Friday, the Inspectorate for Control and Protection of Territory will begin action to vacate public spaces on national axes, after businesses were given until July 31 to vacate them themselves.

Balluku said that over the last 8 days, an advisory campaign was carried out by the ARRSH and IKMT, also showing concrete cases of cooperation between the entities.

"Suffice it to tell you a case on the Kombinat-Plepa road axis, where the entity has undertaken the withdrawal and respect of the distance from the body of the national axis, as well as the aesthetic arrangement of the area where it operates. This is a good example to be followed everywhere. Also, I take the opportunity to congratulate all those entities that operate on the axis from Gjirokastra to Levan, as I was together for an inspection there with the ARRSH engineers and the IKMT inspectors and we did not identify any violations in this territory ," said Balluku.

" We would like to inform you that from this moment on, IKMT, supported by the State Police, will take concrete measures to respect distances from national axes. What is happening today in the territory of Albania is not an action against tents, as is said, it is a deep reform for the release of public spaces and respect for the rules and laws of territorial protection in the Republic of Albania. It is a reform that does not leave out of attention either tents, or the common courtyards of occupied buildings turned into parking lots, or the TECs built illegally in the territories of Albanian resource deposits, despite the ridiculous denial of their existence or the even more ridiculous protection by segments paid to attack the public good", said Balluku.

Balluku thanked citizens for what he called excellent cooperation throughout this period and encouraged them to continue reporting.

"In addition, through a dedicated platform, the 'My Space' platform that was announced by the Prime Minister, Edi Rama. I wish you a peaceful summer and happy holidays and we assure you that all institutions are on duty in every corner of the country to guarantee better quality services for Albanian citizens and the many foreign visitors who are in our country this season ," concluded Balluku.
