Denis Tahiri , wanted for the assassination attempt with two wounded in Don Bosco, was reportedly discovered by the license plates of the car he used on the day of the incident.

The 23-year-old from Kamza is reported to have removed the license plates from the car and put them on a vehicle he had rented.

The vehicle and license plates were captured by security cameras, leading the police to track down the perpetrator.

The Blues have launched investigations to find out who the license plates belong to and it has been learned that they belonged to another vehicle.

The police found the owner of the vehicle, who stated that he had rented the car to Denis Tahir.

The police discovered that the 23-year-old man removed the license plates from the rented vehicle and put them on the car that went to the scene.

The failed assassination attempt took place in a bar near the mosque in Don Bosco, where Kastriot Elezaj and Renaldo Metushi  were injured and taken to the hospital.

The 23-year-old, a resident of Kamëz, has been charged with the criminal offense of  "Murder in other qualifying circumstances"  against two or more persons, remaining in the attempt, and  "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".

"In evaluating the evidence and facts, the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Tirana, with the decision no. 2706, dated 22.10.2024, decided to assign the measure of personal security "Prison arrest", in absentia, to the citizen DT, 23 years old, resident of Kamëz, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Murder in other qualifying circumstances" against two or more people, remaining in the attempt, and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", provided by articles 79, dh/ 22/ 25, and 278/1 of the Criminal Code, the police announced .

Following the announcement of the event dated 03.09.2024, in a bar near the mosque in Don Bosco, where EC and RM citizens were injured with firearms, we inform you as follows:

For the investigation of this criminal event, the Local Directorate of the Tirana Police has immediately set up a special investigation group, which, under the guidance of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, has continuously carried out all the necessary investigative actions, on initiative or ordered by the prosecutor.

Following the performance of in-depth investigative actions, the use of police intelligence, analysis, assessment of circumstances and facts, and written evidence, the special investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, has possible legal documentation of the implication of one of the suspected authors of this event.

In evaluating the evidence and facts, the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Tirana, with decision no. 2706, dated 22.10.2024, decided to assign the measure of personal security "Prison arrest", in absentia, to the citizen DT, 23 years old, resident of Kamëz, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Murder in other qualifying circumstances" against two or more persons, remaining in the attempt, and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", provided by articles 79, dh/ 22/ 25, and 278/1 of the Criminal Code.

Investigations continue to identify other implicated citizens.
