The new head of SPAK reveals the spicy detail: What we check when we go to a bar

Klodian Braho is the new head of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime.

Seven members of the High Prosecutorial Council voted for Braho, three for Adnan Xholi and one for Elvin Gokaj.

Braho will officially take office at a handover ceremony on December 19, 2025.

When asked today by members of the KLP how his life as a prosecutor has changed, Klodian Braho was honest as he answered this question.

He said that prosecutors cannot live a normal life, and the restrictions go so far as to require them to check who the owner is before going into a bar.

"Because of the function, especially since the moment of serious crimes, and this period, behavior has changed. Prosecutors cannot live a normal life like everyone else. We are not saying that we do not stay closed, but there are some restrictions that we must respect. Even when you go to a bar, we check who has it in the CKB. I say this very sincerely. Of course, these are restrictions, they are not only in our country, but in all civilized countries."

Braho said he tries not to change his lifestyle despite the restrictions.

"But what I can say is that I try not to change my lifestyle. Because otherwise you will return to a negative situation, from the pressure or workload. I try to keep work away from home, and not change my lifestyle. But always respecting a series of limitations that I have chosen myself, this job has not brought us any hardship."

Braho will officially take office at a handover ceremony on December 19, 2025.

Prosecutor Braho, 43 years old, part of the justice system since 2007, has already been one of the main figures of SPAK.
