The Chief of the Saranda Police Station, Gëzim Bashllari, the Chief of Saranda Crimes, Andi Duro, and two police specialists were arrested today, while other arrests are expected, as part of the investigation into the involvement of officers in abuses with illegal construction in the most coveted coastal areas of the south, Saranda and Ksamil.

Top Channel correspondent Entjola Budo reports that the Police Supervision Agency has launched investigations with a focus on verifying the role and responsibility of police officers in allowing or failing to prevent these illegal constructions.

The AMP's move comes after two cases were identified in the area in recent days.

In one case, the Prosecution seized the floor of a hotel built without a permit, while in another case, on a beach in Ksamil, 8 workers were arrested for carrying out illegal work.

Preliminary sources indicate that the investigations will also focus on the actions or inactions of the police structures responsible for controlling the territory, to verify whether there was tolerance or involvement in these cases./ TCH
