Judge Etleva Deda has set September 29, at 12:00, for the preliminary hearing against the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, and other defendants in the SPAK case.

Veliaj will initially face 5 criminal offenses in court, while a total of 12 charges have been filed against him.

SPAK has filed a series of serious charges against the mayor of Tirana: 9 cases of corruption of high-ranking officials, committed in collaboration; Money laundering through private companies and NGOs linked to his wife;
False declaration of assets; Concealment of income; Abuse of office; Introduction of illegal items into the premises of the prison; Amendment of the detailed local plan and granting a construction permit for a multi-storey building, where the wife had financial interests, damaging the interests of the state.
