Russians to be charged with espionage, Tirana prosecution has nearly 3 charges

The two Russian citizens and the Ukrainian arrested along with them will be referred to court on the espionage charge.

The Tirana prosecution is closing the file on three charges. The first and most serious charge relates to espionage, other charges with opposition of the state employee and the hit due to duty and the recent charge of keeping weapons cold, referring to the spraj and screwdriver found to the Russian in the bag.

The charges are based on three provisions of the Penal Code:

Article 214

The provision of classified information of military character or of any other kind, in order to be given to a foreign power, to censor the country's independence, is punishable by imprisonment from three to ten years.

Article 237
Strikes or other acts of violence against employees who perform a state duty or public service, due to his state or service activity, are punishable by fine or imprisonment of up to three years.

Production, maintenance, purchase or sale, cold weapons such as swords, bayonets, knives and other means prepared and specifically intended for attack against persons or for self-defence, without the permission of competent bodies, are punishable by fine or imprisonment of up to three years.

Article 279
Keeping, buying or selling in vehicles or in any other motorized vehicle, in public facilities or in facilities open to the public, cold weapons such as swords, bayonets, knives and other means prepared and specifically intended for attack against persons or for self-defence, without the permission of competent organs, are punishable by imprisonment from one to five years.
