Risena Xhaja takes over the leadership of the Seized and Confiscated Assets Administration Agency

Risena Xhaja has been appointed head of the Seized and Confiscated Assets Administration Agency.

Sources from the Ministry of the Interior indicate that the appointment comes within the framework of changes in the structures of the Ministry.

Xhaja previously held the position of General Secretary in the Ministry of Education.

Who is Risena Xhaja?

From March 2023 General Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. He completed his higher university studies at the Faculty of Law, Tirana and graduated in 2002. In 2008 he graduated in the Master's degree at the Post-University School for "European Studies". In 2021, he received the title of Doctor by completing his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Philology, Tirana.

In June 2002, he started working as a Specialist in the Legal Department, at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, rising to the position of Head of the Legislation Sector, then in 2006, Director of the Legal Department, Foreign Relations and Integration. In 2013 Director of the Legal Department and Agreements and from 2016 to 2019 in the position of the General Director of Economic and Support Services, at the Ministry of Culture, simultaneously in this period he exercised the function of external financial inspector at the Ministry of Finance.

In 2019, he held the position of General Secretary in the Ministry of Culture.

Member of the advisory body to the Minister of Justice for the execution of criminal decisions, Chairman of the Board of the University of Arts from 2019 to 2022.

At the same time, she has been active in teaching as a lecturer in public and private universities in legislative technical subjects and the basics of law.

Publisher in international scientific journals on cultural heritage and financial impact on the country's development.

From 2019 to March 2023, he held the position of Deputy General Director of the State Cadastre Agency, simultaneously Head of the Appeal and Co-Governance structure and Commander in Chief of the two Local Directories of this institution.

Due to the task, there has been a prominent contribution to the drafting of legislation in the fields of: Cultural Heritage, Tourism, Sports, Culture and Property.
