Normality is restored on the Elbasan-Librazhd-Prrenjas axis

After an extremely problematic situation that lasted from the early hours of the morning until around 11:00 p.m. yesterday, traffic on the Elbasan-Librazhd-Prrenjas national road axis has returned to normal.

Road chaos, caused by extremely severe frosts and snowfall, left thousands of vehicles and tens of thousands of passengers stranded, who were forced to spend hours on the road in difficult weather conditions.

The situation deteriorated significantly in the most problematic segments of this axis, known for the frequent presence of frost, such as "Murrashit Curves", "Dragostunja Curves" and "Pishkash Curves", where the lack of timely intervention caused traffic to be almost completely paralyzed.

According to sources from the field, if the companies contracted to maintain these road segments had been on standby and had intervened in time by spreading salt in the problematic areas, the situation would not have gotten out of control.

The lack of preventive measures and the delay in response became key factors that led to the massive traffic jam.

Only after much-delayed intervention and the gradual improvement of weather conditions, traffic began to normalize, ending a long and extremely difficult day for drivers and passengers.

Meanwhile, this situation has raised serious concerns and demands for accountability and better planning from the institutions and entities responsible for road maintenance, so that such episodes do not repeat in the future.
