The ceremony was held today on the occasion of the end of the joint training of the RENEA Special Department and the GSG9 Special Department of the German Police, to increase the operational tactical skills of the RENEA operatives.

The training of the elite forces of the Albanian and German Police took place for 5 consecutive days, to resolve a hostage situation, at the "Mother Teresa" airport.    

The ceremony held in the premises of the RENEA Special Department was attended by the General Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, the Commander of the RENEA Special Department, Altin Dardha, the Commander of the GSG9 Special Department, Colonel Robert Hemmerling, and the Ambassador of Germany, Karlfried Bergner.

During the speech at this ceremony, General Director Proda appreciated the cooperation with the German partners and emphasized that this exercise will serve the RENEA officers a lot, for increasing their professional capacities, which they will use in solving difficult situations in the future. He has thanked the German government and colleagues of the German Police, for the unsparing support and assured that the State Police is a serious, professional and reliable partner to jointly develop with German partners, investigations and operational actions in the continuous fight against crime. organized, corruption and illegal traffic.   

The Ambassador of Germany in Albania, Karlfried Bergner, praised the hospitality and joint training and emphasized that he now feels safer in Albania.

The Commander of the Special Department RENEA Altin Dardha and the Commander of the Special Department GSG9 Colonel Robert Hemmerling praised the training of the effectives of the two elite forces, which is a proof of cooperation and mutual trust between the police of the two countries.
