Rama: Judges demand salary increases even for those whose vetting for
Prime Minister Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to the statement of the Judges' Association regarding salaries.

In a direct link on social media, Rama states that the language used by the Association is unacceptable and says that judges have salaries equal to those in Greece.

"We have decided in 2016 an extraordinary salary increase, as an expression of the will and message of that reform, which is a sacrifice of taxpayers, that you are fair, independent, impartial.

But, from the 2016 decision to creating the opportunities to have that salary fund, it takes time. When we passed that package, this was not Albania. Today it is a different Albania.

How can this be with a magic key? You continue with another thing, I'm surprised you're still discussing it.

You went to the Constitutional Court to increase the salaries of those whose vetting was lifted, to ask Albanian taxpayers to pay higher salaries, for those whose vetting was lifted, because they had unjustified wealth, for the corrupt and bloodthirsty of the Albanian people, they deserved a salary increase, just like those who passed the vetting.

"You should be the first to worry about equality before the law," Rama said, among other things.
