The vehicles confiscated by the State Police will be sold at public auction. The Ministry of the Interior has issued for public consultation a draft law on the handling and administration of cars, speedboats, water motors and other means of road and navigation that have been confiscated by the State Police.
Currently, there are 16,445 vehicles in the local structures of the State Police and in the points of administrative detention of road vehicles, about 8,440 of which are road vehicles that have not been given a solution for years. The State Police pays an additional financial cost for housing this large number of vehicles in rented premises.
Such vehicles pose a great threat to people and the environment, since in case of fire or electrical discharges, the damages would be considerable from the fuel and lubricants they contain. In order to avoid further damage and conflicts with the owners of the points of administrative detention of vehicles, a solution to the problem created in the local Police structures has been made possible.
But what will be done concretely with the confiscated means?
Road and navigation vehicles, registered and equipped with a traffic permit or not, as well as other vehicles confiscated as a result of seizure, detention or blocking by Police bodies, will go through further procedures for sale at auction by the Police of the State.
The secured income will be transferred to the budget of the State Police and the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets, where a part of this income will be used for the transfer of these funds from the premises of the blocking points to the premises of this agency.
