Eight people have been arrested by Greek police as members of a criminal group selling drugs in Mykonos .
4 Greek police officers and 4 Albanians, including another wanted person, were collaborating with each other by re-selling drugs seized by the police.
Police investigations also revealed the officers' connections with members of the Greek mafia, informing them about police checks.
The leader of the criminal group was a 42-year-old Greek officer. He had been suspended since January 14, 2025 for defrauding a former partner in October 2024.
A 31-year-old police officer, serving at the Acropolis Police Station, was his "right-hand man."
He had previously served in the Southeastern Athens Narcotics Department, from where he is suspected of seizing confiscated narcotics and distributing them for sale through the network.
His accomplices were a 35-year-old Police Chief of the Mykonos Police Sub-Directorate and a 43-year-old Police Chief assigned to the Akarnas Police Department.
The group's civilian collaborators were a 43-year-old wanted man, a 24-year-old Albanian and his 29-year-old sister, the partner of the group's leader, and two other people from Albania.
In the same file, 13 other people are also accused, including a Police Chief who serves in the Pydna-Kolindros Police Department, but during the period of investigation he was serving in the Mykonos Police Sub-Directorate.
Among the names investigated are three individuals with serious criminal records, whose names were also included in the large file investigating the murders of four members of the Greek cigarette mafia led by the much-wanted "Entik", who is hiding in Dubai.
The 42-year-old police officer was arrested on October 23, 2024, for repeated fraud against his ex-partner. At that time, his mobile phone was confiscated.
The police had information that he held a leadership position in a drug trafficking gang on the island of Mykonos and beyond.
Declassification of communications revealed his involvement in drug trafficking and the formation of a criminal organization with other suspects.
At the same time, his contacts with individuals linked to Greek mafia activities came to light, in the context of informing them about upcoming police checks and other activities.
Many of his communications with the 31-year-old police officer were leaked, while their surveillance footage revealed an agreement between them for a drug deal involving the two.
The police officer informed the 42-year-old about his departure from the Narcotics Law Enforcement Department and his ability to remove narcotics.
5 million euros discovered in bank accounts
Authorities identified banking transactions between two police officers, who played a key role in the network.
Nearly 5 million euros were found in the accounts of the 42-year-old man and his partner, while it is suspected that the brother of the 29-year-old Albanian woman was also involved, who transported and channeled the seized drugs.
Members of the organization communicated exclusively through online applications, while the police "brains" of the network are suspected of being involved in other illegal cases, such as informing businessmen about police checks.
