Two boats collide in Kakome, 3 foreign tourists injured

Three foreign tourists have been injured as a result of a collision between two tourist boats in the Gulf of Kakomë. Police say the accident occurred at around 1:10 p.m. and the injured have been taken to Saranda Hospital for medical attention.

"Today, on September 14, 2025, at around 1:10 p.m., a collision between two tourist boats occurred in the Kakomë Bay. As a result of the accident, three foreign citizens were injured: Charlotte Ann Richards - Australian citizen, Alit El Haj Sofian - French citizen, Bionde Catherine - Italian citizen. The injured were taken to the Saranda Regional Hospital for the necessary medical assistance and are out of danger to their lives," the police announced.

In the rescue operation, the National Search and Rescue Center (NSRC), the Inter-Institutional Maritime Operational Center (IMOC), and the Saranda Border Police participated. The National Search and Rescue Center thanks all the structures that contributed to the rescue of citizens, especially the Saranda Border Police and the National Emergency.
