According to a survey conducted by Data Centrum, made public on the show "Now with Erla Mëhillin", Tirana turns out to be the most visited destination by foreign tourists in Albania, leaving behind well-known tourist areas such as Saranda and Ksamil.

According to Data Centrum representatives, the categorization was based on open-ended responses from tourists, who themselves declared the places they had visited. For this reason, some destinations were grouped according to tourist categories.

Experts explained that Tirana's high percentage is also related to the fact that many tourists include the capital in their itinerary, even for short stays, before continuing their journey to other tourist areas.

According to the results, 71% of tourists have visited Tirana, ranking the capital in first place.

In second place are Saranda and Ksamil, along with the southern beaches, mentioned by 43% of respondents. Meanwhile, the Albanian Riviera area, including destinations such as Dhërmi, Himara, Borshi and Qeparoi, was visited by 37% of tourists.

UNESCO-protected destinations, such as Gjirokastra, Berat and Butrint, were visited by 32% of tourists, while Durrës, Golemi and Ishmi were visited by 30%.

Then they are listed:

Shkodra with 18%;

tourist villages by 13%;

Kruja with 8%;

lakes and rivers, including Pogradec, with 6%;

Tepelena, Përmet and Këlcyra with 5%;

northern beaches by 5%;

Korça and the Lina area in Pogradec with 4%;

Elbasan, Gramsh and Librazhd with 2%.

The data also shows that a large portion of foreign tourists do not stay in just one destination, but develop combined tours, visiting several areas during the same trip to Albania.
