Happens in Tirana/ Report on VOX News: Traffic Policeman does not recognize

A complaint has reached VOX News from a citizen from Berat.

In his complaint, he writes that he has unjustly received a fine of 20 thousand new lek ( 200 thousand old lek ), due to an error on the part of the traffic police.

From the photos sent to the editorial office, a vehicle with foreign license plates was stopped the day before in Tirana.

Instead of imposing an administrative measure on the driver of the vehicle with foreign license plates, the traffic police made the mistake of registering the license plate as Albanian.

It is about the license plate AA574FI , which belongs to a vehicle in Berat.

In reality, the stopped vehicle had foreign ( Slovak ) license plates, but due to their similarity to the Albanian format, the police confused the country of registration.

As a result, the fine was imposed on a citizen in Berat, who was not present at the scene and has no connection to the violation.

In the document provided by VOX News , it appears that the violation is related to failure to respect road signs, while the measure was imposed automatically based on the incorrectly registered license plate.
