The Traffic Police have fined hundreds of drivers in the last 48 hours for various violations, such as failing to respect traffic lanes, causing chaos on the roads.
In order to achieve this objective, during the last 48 hours: 524 violations of road traffic rules were found, which were punished with administrative measures; 12 citizens were arrested or criminally prosecuted, who, through vehicle maneuvers, seriously endangered the health/life of road users," the police said.
Among the measures imposed: 85 were for drivers who, by not respecting the queue, created chaotic situations in traffic and endangered the movement of other vehicles; 179 were for not wearing a seat belt while driving; 260 were for using a mobile phone while driving.
"The Traffic Police appeal again to all drivers to respect the rules of the road, to use their seat belts, not to use their mobile phones while driving and to show maximum caution during every maneuver, in order to prevent accidents and protect their lives and those of other citizens. Checks continue every day, on all axes of the district," the police said.
