The Lezha Police have reacted to the incident that occurred on the evening of May 9, 2026 on the " Mamurras-Laç " highway, near the Sandzhak intersection, where the well-known businessman, Sokol Toma,  was raped by several still unidentified persons.

Police explain that Toma, 53, was hit with hard objects by several people, suffering injuries to his body.

Immediately after receiving the notification, the Police services and the investigation team arrived at the scene, and began actions to fully investigate the incident.

The police also say that security camera footage from a wide area has been seized, while other investigative actions are being carried out to identify and capture the perpetrators.

We recall that the media reported that the perpetrators broke his legs and cut off his ear.

Police announcement:

In relation to the incident that occurred at around 22:00 on 09.05.2026, on the "Mamurras-Laç" highway, near the Sandzhak intersection, where still unidentified citizens hit citizen ST, 53 years old, resident of Lezha, with hard objects, causing bodily injuries, we would like to clarify that:

Immediately after the notification, the Police services and the investigation team went to the scene.

The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing intensive actions, has seized camera footage from a wide area, and is carrying out a series of other investigative actions with the aim of clarifying the circumstances, identifying and capturing the perpetrators.
