The second session of the trial on the merits against former President Ilir Meta will be held today at 12:00 at the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime.

In the April 27 session, where the trial on the merits of the Meta case began, the former president's request to have the trial broadcast live by the media was rejected.

In the few moments of the opening of the session where cameras were allowed, the image of the former president appeared in public for the first time, showing that he had undergone a visible physical transformation.

SPAK has indicted Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi for corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets, in connection with the CEZ-DIA affair and LSI lobbying in the US.

Today the court is expected to rule on whether to accept the request for a summary trial for the other three defendants: Monika Kryemadhi's mother, Ema Çoku, her friend, accused of money laundering, and the former head of AKEP, Pirro Xhixho, accused of corruption.
