Some road axes in the capital will remain closed throughout the day on Sunday, during the Tirana Marathon.

The police of Tirana announced today the measures that foresee the blocking of road axes where the circulation of cars will be prohibited, except for emergency ones.

These axes will remain blocked from 08:00 to 16:00.

The Tirana Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Tirana Municipality, has undertaken all necessary measures to guarantee order and security, before, during and after the end of the "Tirana Marathon 2024" activity.

On October 20, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the exception of emergency vehicles and State Police vehicles, the circulation of all other vehicles will be prohibited on the following roads:

- "Mother Teresa" square, continuing along "Deshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, "Gjergj Filipi" street, "Pope John Paul II" street, "Ismail Qemali" street, "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, "Bajram Curri" boulevard , the intersection with Elbasani Street, "George U. Bush" Street, "Abdi Toptani" Street, "Zogu i Parë" Boulevard, "Ded Gjo Luli" Boulevard, "Ded Gjo Luli" Street, Durres Street, "Kavaja" Street, "Myslym" Street Shyri", "Zhan D'Ark" boulevard from the intersection with the court bridge to Taiëani bridge, "Bajram Curri" boulevard from the intersection with the court bridge to Taiëani bridge, "Ibrahim Rugova" street and "Lek Dukagjini" street .

In implementation of the plan of measures, by the Municipality of Tirana, temporary road signage has been placed throughout the perimeter of the race, stopping and resting for vehicles (with the corresponding restriction schedules), abolishing and covering all the previous road signage.

In order to guarantee order and safety for the smooth running of the activity, the following is prohibited:

- entering with vehicles within the perimeter of the race;

- parking of vehicles within the perimeter of the race, contrary to the established road signs;

- moving with bicycles, skateboards, or motorcycles, during the race, on the roads inside the perimeter.

Tirana Police asks for the understanding of the citizens for the respect and implementation of the movement schedules, for the defined measures.
