Luxury cars in the capital have been placed under concentrated controls by the Tirana Police , with a focus on verifying the origin of the vehicles and the source of the wealth with which they were purchased.

Dozens of luxury vehicles have been searched by the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation structures, in cooperation with the Special Operations Force, "Eagles" and the Traffic Police.

A special device was used to verify the vehicles' identification data. After checking the system, the Police continued to verify their ownership, origin, and history of purchase, sale, and possession.

Tirana/ Focused controls on luxury vehicles, with a focus on verifying the origin and source of wealth.

Tirana Police structures have intensified controls on luxury vehicles, with the aim of identifying and verifying vehicles that are suspected of having been the proceeds of criminal activity, as well as preventing their trafficking.

As part of these checks, the structures for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the "Operational" Special Force, the "Eagle" Special Force and the Traffic Police, have checked dozens of luxury vehicles in the capital.

The checks were carried out using a special device, which enables the control and verification of the vehicle's identification data. After verification in the system, further checks were carried out on the registered vehicles regarding their ownership, origin and history of purchase, sale and possession.

Also, verifications were carried out on the source of income with which the vehicles were purchased, with the aim of identifying cases where the property may have been obtained from criminal activity, as well as identifying vehicles that may be the object of illegal trafficking.

At the conclusion of the verifications, the procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigations and the performance of further procedural actions.

Tirana Police will continue joint controls and verifications of luxury vehicles, in order to identify and seize assets of criminal origin, prevent their trafficking and fight against the laundering of proceeds from criminal activity.
