The meeting of the Special Committee for the Verification of Assets and the Profile of Candidates Running to Lead the National Bureau of Investigation begins.
As reported by Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha's sources, the commission is assessing in this closed-door meeting whether all institutions have submitted the controlled documents, including the response on the assets of the seven candidates that the HIDAA is following and the cleanliness of their image.
The head of the BKH should have taken office on September 1, the day Aida Hajnaj's mandate ended, but the open competition and the procedures followed beyond the deadlines by the selection committee, put the process in a bind.
Seven candidates remained in the race, whose names were belatedly delegated to the second commission, which has a 120-day deadline to audit assets and respond to the selection commission on its findings.
The latter then proposes to the KLP the name of the new director of BKH.
