Orthodox Church appeals to believers: Make sure to mark their religious identity
Orthodox Church "Resurrection of Christ", Tirana

The Orthodox Church has called on Christians to correctly declare their religious belief, and to ensure it is marked correctly by the census worker starting tomorrow.

In a reaction on social media, the Orthodox Church calls on believers to declare themselves "Orthodox Christian" and to make sure it is correctly thrown on the tablet.

The Albanian Muslim Community also called on the faithful to "proudly declare that they are Muslims".

"From Monday, September 18, 2023, and in the next 6 weeks, the Census of Population and Housing will be conducted all over the country. In this important process, the religious affiliation data will also be recorded. Since this part of censi is left optional only, pay attention and accountability, asking for a marking of your religious identity: "Orthodox Christian".

Check and make sure that the answer to the question about religious affiliation that the surveyor completes is correctly put on the tablet (electronic device) with which you register, according to what you stated," the Orthodox Church of Albania wrote on its Facebook page.
