Tirana Police have revealed the dynamics of the incident in Shkoza, where during the night (May 18), off-duty police officer Anxhelo Kumaraku, 30, was injured.

The capital's police explain that two brothers have been identified and wanted for the incident, who attempted to kill with a firearm the person accompanying the policeman, a 31-year-old citizen identified as Klejdi Spaja.

The latter was arrested by the police, as he had violated the "house arrest" security measure at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has immediately suspended the police officer from duty, while the Directorate of Professional Standards has launched a disciplinary investigation against him.

The dynamics of the midnight incident in Shkoza are revealed.

Two citizens (brothers) have been identified and are wanted, allegedly for attempting to kill a 31-year-old man with a firearm near his apartment.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested after violating the "House Arrest" security measure.

A 30-year-old man (off-duty police officer) was accidentally wounded in the leg by the shooting, and his life is out of danger.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the State Police has immediately suspended the police officer from duty.
The Directorate of Professional Standards has launched a disciplinary investigation against him for serious disciplinary violations.

The Specialists for the Investigation of Serious Crimes, following the investigative actions carried out under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, for the incident that occurred at midnight in Shkoza, identified and declared the suspected perpetrators, citizens AL, 33 years old, and AL, 22 years old, (brothers), wanted.

From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that these citizens fired firearms from their vehicle at citizen KS, who was near his apartment, together with citizens AK and LD.

Citizen AK, 30 years old (off-duty police officer), was accidentally injured in the leg by the shooting. He is receiving treatment and is out of danger.

Following the actions in the case, citizen KS, 31 years old, was arrested, after verifications revealed that he had violated the security measure "House Arrest", imposed by the Court, for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed Weapon Possession".

Efforts are underway to capture 2 wanted citizens.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office and the Police Supervision Agency, investigations continue to fully document the case.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Professional Standards has launched a disciplinary investigation against Police officer AK for a serious disciplinary violation, as provided for by Law No. 82/2024 "On the State Police", after this police officer was found to be accompanying a person who had violated the security measure "House Arrest", imposed by a court decision for illegal possession of weapons, and failed to notify the police services and superiors about the case in question.
