The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, was asked by journalists about the assassination attempt in Lezha , where a husband and wife, Kreshnik and Gentiana Mujeci , were killed .

He said that the perpetrators are still being sought, but stressed that  RENEA has conducted several checks.

"The police have made direct communication since the first moments. The investigations have continued this morning, we have carried out several checks with the RENEA special forces, but it has not yet been possible to capture the perpetrators," said Hita.

When asked about the opposition's May 8 protest , Hita stated that all measures have been taken, while expressing that if there are any illegal actions, they will act according to procedures.

"All measures have been taken. This protest, permission has been requested for the Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard and it should be concentrated there. In case of illegal gatherings, action will be taken based on standard procedures and the Criminal Code," stated the director of police, Skënder Hita .
