The Tirana Prosecutor's Office has issued an official announcement regarding the crackdown on three fraudulent Call Centers that operated against EU citizens, promising recovery of money lost in investments and investment in fictitious stock exchanges.
In total, 9 security measures have been imposed, 7 of them being prison sentences, while two have been banned from leaving the country and required to report to the judicial police.
Also, the Prosecution emphasizes, during the operation, 5 people were arrested in flagrante delicto in the premises where the illegal activity was being carried out.
The prosecution says that citizens ED, MH, TA, LT, Xh.M., ML, Xh.H., AB, LC, KD, EH, ET, BB, KB, K.Sh and AK , deceived various citizens of European Union countries through call-center activities, causing them large financial losses.
Fraud scheme
According to the Prosecution, the accused operated in groups organized by language (German, English and Italian), with structures of 6–8 agents supervised by leaders.
Operators contacted Italian, German, and Austrian citizens promising to recover funds lost in online investments.
They then instructed them to open accounts on fake platforms such as " Coin Baze " and make an initial deposit of 500 euros.
Employees had separate roles, used pseudonyms and usernames, and received monthly salaries of around 800 euros.
Investigations show that these structures operated as organized networks with a clear hierarchy and cross-border activity, causing losses that allegedly exceed 50 million euros, mainly in Austria and other European cities.
