An arsenal of weapons and combat ammunition have been discovered and seized in the village of Labovë i Kryqit in Gjirokastër.

Police announce that weapons and ammunition were found in one of the apartments of one of the arrested in Greece, suspected of being a contract killer.

It is also reported that 3 automatic firearms, 200 Kalashnikov cartridges, 18 packages of pistol cartridges and 5 combs were seized.

The Police statement also states that within this criminal group, there were 4 people who are being investigated and who are suspected of being contract killers. They are Dhimitër Meci, Andrea Brokeri, Fatjon Prendi and Petro Theohari.

Meanwhile, the Police, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office and Greek counterparts, are continuing in-depth investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of this case.

State Police - The police operation codenamed "Provat" is finalized.

Cooperation between the State Police and the Greek Police led to the discovery and seizure of an arsenal of firearms and combat ammunition.

3 automatic firearms, 200 Kalashnikov cartridges, 18 packs of pistol cartridges and 5 combs were seized.

As part of the cooperation between the Albanian Police and the Greek Police, after the exchange of information on the capture of several Albanian citizens in Greece, suspected of being contract killers, the State Police structures in Gjirokastër, Vlorë and Lezha, as part of the police operation codenamed "Provat", conducted searches in the homes of these citizens.

As a result of the search in the village of Labovë e Kryqit, the services of the Gjirokastër Local Police Directorate found hidden, in the apartment of citizen Dh. M., 45 years old, 2 Kalashnikovs and an automatic firearm, suspected of being trafficked, and hundreds of cartridges of various calibers.

The firearms, which were found in the apartment of the 45-year-old man, detained 2 days ago in Greece, on charges of murder and participation in a criminal group that possessed firearms, will be sent to the Institute of Scientific Police for technical expertise.

In order to fully document the criminal activity of Albanian citizens Dh. M., 45 years old, resident of Labovë e Kryqit Gjirokastër; AB, 32 years old, resident of Kudhës Himara; FP, 39 years old, resident of Lezha; and P. Th., 31 years old, resident of Muzinë Saranda, suspected of being contract killers, the structures of the Criminal Police Department, those of the DVP Gjirokastër, Vlorë and Lezha, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, are continuing in-depth investigations by coordinating and cooperating closely with their Greek counterparts.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action, for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition" and "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
