Erion Veliaj appealed his arrest in prison, Constitutional Court closes session without decision

Today, the Constitutional Court reviewed the request of the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, to declare the first measure of "prison arrest", imposed by the GJKKO in February 2025, unconstitutional, a measure which was later confirmed by the GJKKO Appeal and the Supreme Court.

The session began at 10:00 and was held behind closed doors based on documents and without the presence of the parties. 

The meeting ended without a decision, the Constitutional Court is expected to speak in the coming days.
