Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari made it clear that every employee of the State Police must take good care of their duty, themselves, and justice if they are going to become a party to crime and turn a blind eye to illegality.

This message comes after the action carried out in Saranda by the State Police and the Police Supervision Agency (AMP) that led to the dissolution of the Saranda police station, after the leadership had allowed the unauthorized construction of 'Copacabana', a business suspected of being linked to crime.

"It was possible to crack down on one of the cases of illegality, where police officers become parties to the crime. They neglect their duty, but they also violate national interests. The coast from north to south, the defense of the territory belongs to the citizens and cannot be touched. Whoever thinks that personal interests can be silenced is wrong. This is a clear message that one must take good care of oneself, one's duty and justice," Lamallari said during the press conference.

Lamallari said that the National Inspectorate for Territorial Protection (IKMT) and the State Police have undertaken a plan of measures against the prevention of unauthorized construction as well as continuous controls in high-risk areas.

Meanwhile, the State Police has put into practice another system of informing the media and the public, reducing the amount of information about events. For the media, this new system of access to information has caused a 'crash' in informing the public. Minister Lamallari said that the goal is to avoid misinformation and for the public to receive only the right information.

"The new communication is for transparency and to avoid disinformation. It is important that citizens are not bombarded with unnecessary information and receive correct information. The Minister of Interior does not interfere in operational matters, and the police do not separate operations during their development. The Director of Police has made such communications about measures to protect the territory," said Lamallari.
Meanwhile, Besfort Lamallari also announced the measures taken for the summer tourist season and protection and prevention against fires.

"The focus remains on fire prevention, increasing operational readiness and protecting life. There is engagement with municipalities, as well as improving the financial treatment of firefighters, overtime, days off and the rank system. Controls are also being carried out in resorts, bars and restaurants to implement fire prevention measures."

"We will have special patrols and 12-hour patrols. Albania is increasingly standing out for its police capabilities. On the other hand, another element is the full functionality of the maritime and border police. Where they will demonstrate their capacities with a special focus on the beaches of Albania", said Minister Lamallari.
The Minister of Interior also spoke about safety in schools, adding here the implementation of the 'Smart City' project of monitoring environments with intelligent cameras.

"School safety measures and inspections. We will start with 21 schools and then expand to the entire territory. Special measures are planned for the prevention of incidents, the drafting of risk analysis and the implementation of the "Youth Safety" program. Special inspections are being carried out in various school environments," said Lamallari.
