The former doctor of the Peqin prison hospital was arrested in Italy and extradited to our country. It is about citizen Eduart Ruçi , 51 years old, resident of Durrës.

The authorities announce that this citizen was declared an international wanted person after the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, with the criminal decision dated 06.02.2021, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison" for criminal offenses "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Decriminalization of crime".

In the announcement of the blues, it is said that Eduart Ruçi, in 2019, while practicing the profession of a doctor, in the prison hospital of Peqin, is suspected of having demanded the sum of 2 thousand euros from the relatives of a convict with 35 years of imprisonment, for murder , to compile a medical report, for sending the convict to the hospital, to perform an operation.

Also, during the exercise of this duty, Eduart Ruçi is suspected to have known about a convict who was carrying a cell phone in the prison premises, but did not report it.

The extradited citizen was handed over to the General Directorate of Prisons.
