Toronto police have announced that they have identified a suspect in the murder of 43-year-old Albanian Paulin Harusha , who was shot to death inside his car on September 13, near the intersection of Victoria Park and Sheppard Avenue.

Harusha was found shot inside the vehicle, and despite efforts to save his life, he died at the scene.

Police reported that a light-colored SUV was seen leaving the scene before officers arrived.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Meelad Tarin , is wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant for first-degree murder.

Investigator Det. Sgt. Alan Bartlett said there is an acquaintance between the victim and the suspect, but the nature of the relationship and motive for the crime are still under investigation.

Bartlett did not provide details on the criminal history of the victim or suspect and did not confirm whether the gun was seized, but said there is evidence of a gun being fired at the scene.

The investigator added that the suspect got out of the car at some point, but did not reveal whether there were other people involved.

"Mr. Harusha leaves behind a devastated family and friends who are shocked. His loss has left a huge void in their lives," Bartlett said.

Police have appealed for information that could lead to the suspect's capture and have issued a nationwide arrest warrant./ TorontoSun
