The Director General of the Police Supervision Agency, Klevis Qose, hosted today in a bilateral meeting the Special Envoy of the President of the United States of America for Global Partnerships, Ambassador Paolo Zampolli.
During the meeting, issues of common importance and interest were discussed, appreciating the excellent relations between Albania and the United States, as well as the contribution and expertise of American partners in the field of intelligence and security.
"The special envoy conveyed the position of President Donald Trump, who since 2017 has described fentanyl as one of the most dangerous drugs and a serious threat to people's lives, due to the serious consequences and mass deaths it causes.
In this regard, we emphasized the importance of prevention, information exchange and strengthening cooperation between Albanian institutions and American partners", the head of the Police Supervision Agency said.
The meeting also discussed the arrival of the new United States Ambassador to Albania, considering this an opportunity to further deepen cooperation and coordination between the two countries, especially in the field of security.
"Albania and the United States remain important and reliable partners, united by a strategic relationship and a shared commitment to strengthening security and the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking," the Police Oversight Agency said in a statement.
