"Partizani" DOSSY/ Will they ask for a shortened trial for Sali Berisha? Here's how the lawyer responds!

Sali Berisha's lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, has stated that the leader of the Democratic Party and his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, will not request a summary trial.

His statement comes after the Special Court made the decision to move the Partizani case, where the leader of the Democrat Party and his son-in-law are defendants, to trial.

The former prime minister's legal representative stated that the trial will proceed as usual.

"Will they request a summary trial?" , lawyer Gjokutaj was asked by reporters.

Gjokutaj : We did not request a summary trial due to the fact that the criminal fact is missing and we have nothing to shorten or extend.

This is the foundation of the defense. Secondly, when we find invalid and unusable acts in the summary judgment, it is automatically dismissed, because you cannot accept the status of acts with invalid acts.

This court did this, validated those acts, gave them value and sent them to trial.

The issue of summary judgment is closed in this session and without being requested here, it cannot be requested on the merits. Here it is raised and the court refers it to the merits, which formally accepts it. It will proceed with the ordinary trial .
