Journalist Julian Kasapi has made a strong statement on the SPAK arrests, warning that there will be detentions before the May 11 elections.

In a link to "Top Story", Kasapi stated that "there are 10 SP candidates for MPs under SPAK's scrutiny."

Among other things, he commented on the work of SPAK, saying that it enjoys great public support, as it has managed to hit the 'strong' who are considered untouchable.

"The Special Prosecution Office enjoys the greatest public support today. SPAK has shown that justice can be done in Albania, the justice system can function, even in an Albania where no anti-corruption institution... tell me, do you know any anti-corruption institution that may have filed a report with the Special Prosecution Office. On the other hand, SPAK has shown that in Albania we were talking about Jurgis Çyrbjan until yesterday, now we have the mayor of Tirana. It has shown that at least at this point SPAK enjoys such great support. Just like the story with the mayor, where I think it is one of the most courageous strikes of SPAK and which was necessary, because tomorrow the day after tomorrow there is a need for a renewal. We also have other files such as 'January 21', the '5D' file.

I understand that history in Albania will continue with comments, in fact SPAK is the only institution that enjoys the greatest support from the public. Why? Because it has gone to the point where it hits even those who are very strong and who cannot be touched.

On the other hand, I have information that SPAK will not continue with the election list, or that it should make other arrests before May 11 and after May 11. It is an institution that does not have the agenda of the SP or the DP. Now is the moment to do... in its magnifying glass there are over 10 SP candidates, who are for deputies. We have heard about these people who until yesterday had immunity. SPAK is trying to make, or avoid the history of the clash of the Assembly. Now is the moment. So I say that there is no election list for SPAK, it is the moment to take its actions, this is information that has reached me. These are figures who are known to be political and SPAK is trying to avoid the clash and make arrests before the elections" , said Kasapi.
