'The Dibrans protect the water with hunj', the villages of

Residents of the villages of Upper and Lower Kirçisht in Dibër have continued their protest in defense of the source of water that Dibër Municipality seeks to obtain through a project for the supply of drinking water to Maqellara.

Men, women and children took to the streets again this Monday to stop the start of the works after the announcement that the tools of the firm that won the implementation of the project would go. 

They are determined that they will not allow the village's water to be taken for any reason, and they ask the Dibër Municipality to cancel the project.

"We will die here, we will all become corpses. They don't take water anymore. In July and August we don't have a drop of water," say the residents.

This is the umpteenth time that the residents of the villages have protested, while they have not even sent their children to school.

Despite the continuous protests of the residents there, the institutions and the municipality have chosen to remain silent in front of those who elected them.
