Details from the investigation into the death of the 19-year-old Albanian woman in Greece: An elderly man gave her money shortly before she died from a cocaine overdose

Two days after the decision to remand in custody the three young men accused of abandoning 19-year-old Myrto in a square in Argostoli, leading to her death, authorities are continuing their in-depth investigation into the case.

The lawyer for the 19-year-old's family has stated that there is other evidence indicating the involvement of other people in this tragedy that has shocked our country and neighboring countries, reports Protothema.gr.

It is reported that investigations have also been launched against a 66-year-old man, who, according to information, had been in contact with Myrto. A few minutes before the tragedy, it is learned that the man had sent her 220 euros.

Investigations have revealed that the man in question exchanged messages with the young woman, while it has not been clarified why he sent the young woman the money.

For his part, the 19-year-old's father speaks about a group that he suspects tried to exploit his daughter, emphasizing that he will fight to restore her memory.

Regarding Myrto's hospitalization, the lawyer conveyed the information he had from her mother, stating

The three young men, who after their lengthy speeches were considered detained and are expected to be transferred to Korydallos, denied any connection to Myrto's tragic death.

But hotel security camera footage proves otherwise. In videos released a few days ago by local media, the 22-year-old appears first, holding the 19-year-old's jacket, followed by the 26-year-old weightlifter who carries her out of the scene, and the 23-year-old last. They then take her to a central square and call an ambulance.

The 19-year-old, identified by Greek media as "Myrto", was found unconscious outside a restaurant in the central square of Argostoli in the early hours of Tuesday. She had been abandoned by three young men aged 23, 26 and 22, the latter an Albanian, after they had consumed cocaine in a hotel. 

Based on the report by Newsbomb.gr, the 19-year-old's mother is originally from Albania, and worked in various jobs, she is described by acquaintances as hardworking and of good character.

According to Greek media reports, shortly before saying her final "goodbye", her childhood friend and her mother spoke on a television show in Greece, where they shared their last conversations. The 19-year-old's childhood friend said that she had communicated with the 23-year-old on social media in the past month.

Adding that it was she who warned him not to go out with him because according to what he had heard: "I didn't hear good things about this guy. His parents had kicked him out of the house and he had gone to Athens. I told him the day before: "Myrto, please, I think you're a smart girl, don't go out with this guy again." "Please, listen to me."
