DP's denunciation of the "Bulgarian train" in Peqin, police launch investigation into the owner of the bar, seize 10 forged ballots

Following the denunciation yesterday by the Democratic Party, the Police in Peqin announced that they have launched investigations into Dervish Beqiri, the headman of the village of Pekisht.

In his bar-cafe, the blue uniforms found and seized 10 ballot papers similar to ballots, incomplete and suspected of being forged, as well as a list of voters.

They also seized Beqiri's wallet with 280 thousand new Lekë.

"Furthermore, during the search of citizen DB's apartment, an old trophy rifle and a (sporting) stun gun were found," the police announced.

The case has been referred to the prosecutor's office where Beqiri will be investigated for falsification of election materials and illegal possession of weapons.

The case in question was denounced on Thursday by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, and the future MP of the blue seat in Elbasan, Blendi Himçi.

The latter said that the lists of voters' names were tampered with. Meanwhile, according to Berisha, in this case the "Bulgarian train" was applied to influence the election result.
