Xhevdet Plaku is one of the people arrested in the mega-operation conducted on Friday morning by RENEA forces and the State Police.

The old man is a person known to the police. For 25 years, he has been involved in crimes in three countries, Italy, Albania and the Netherlands.

Among other things, Xhevdet Plaku is accused of two murders. The first occurred in 2000, when he killed Sali Rapi, the brother of Rexhep Rapi, in Borghetto Santo Spirito, in the province of Savona. A cold-blooded execution with a bullet to the head as part of a gang feud.

The second murder occurred three years later, in Durrës, where he had returned to live. In 2019, they attempted to kill him, perhaps to avenge Rapi, but the attack never materialized. But it doesn't end there.

The old man also headed a criminal organization that imported cocaine from the Netherlands and Belgium. The packages of drugs had names that looked like they were from a fashion catalog: “Hermes” for the purest quality, “PlayBoy” for the lowest.

Xhevdet Plaku's name also appeared in the SPAK file for the drug trafficking group, which also included the former crime chief of Police Station No. 6, Dedan Gjoni and Erzen Breçani.

The Sky ECC wiretap revelations revealed that Akili, who used 25 identities and was accused of being the head of an international drug trafficking group based in Amsterdam, was attempted to be killed by Shijak strongman Rexhep Rapi on September 17, 2019.

The wiretaps revealed Rapi's collaboration with Gjon to commit the murder in front of the Durrës police station, as revenge for accusing him of the murder of his brother Sali Rapi, which occurred in 2014 in Italy.

He has survived at least 5 documented assassination attempts. He has been extradited 4 times by Interpol.

He has managed to escape conviction for murder under suspicious circumstances, sometimes due to a lack of investigation and sometimes due to procedural errors. The longest time he has spent in prison in these 25 years has been a little over 4 years.
