The Court of Appeal in Shkodër has sentenced the former mayor of Lezha, Fran Frrokaj, to 3 years in prison.

Former mayor Frrokaj is accused of abuse of office and misappropriation of property.

Fran Frrokaj and 15 other former officials of the Municipality of Lezha are accused of alienating 234,000 square meters of land on the coast of Rana i Hedhun in Shengjin.

Investigations into the alienation of properties in the area of ​​Rana i Hedhun in Shengjin started in 2017, when the prosecutor denounced the alienation of 234,548 square meters of state land in Rana.

Initially, in this case together with the mayor, 22 other people were arrested, but in the court of first instance Lezhë the file was sent for 18 people, of which only one was declared innocent.
