Seized weapons and drugs

An arsenal of weapons and narcotics have been seized by police in Shijak, while a 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arms trafficking and drug distribution.

The discovery of the weapons and the arrest of the 59-year-old man took place as part of the operation codenamed "River".

The arrested citizen Sh. V., 59 years old, resident of Shijak, is suspected of the criminal offenses "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition", "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons" as well as "Production and sale of narcotics".

During the search of his apartment, the police found and seized as material evidence, 2 pistol firearms with magazine clips; 3 shotguns; combat ammunition of various calibers and weapon parts; 3 pairs of binoculars (one of them for weapons), 1 drone and 8 cold weapons (knives); 24 doses of the suspected narcotic substance cocaine, 1 electronic scale and 6 mobile phones.

Preliminary investigations suspect that the 59-year-old was trafficking weapons with the intention of selling them in the Shijak area.

Announcement: 

2 firearms, 3 hunting guns, combat ammunition, cold weapons, illegal items and a quantity of cocaine were seized.

The 59-year-old man who possessed them in the apartment was arrested in flagrante delicto.

Investigations suspect that this citizen trafficked weapons with the intention of selling them in Shijak.

The Narcotics Investigation Specialists of the Durrës Police Department, in cooperation with the Shijak Police Commissariat, in continuation of their work to crack down on criminal activities, based on information obtained through operational channels, organized and finalized the operation codenamed "River".

As part of this operation, citizen Sh. V., 59 years old, resident of Shijak, was arrested in flagrante delicto, as a suspect for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition", "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", "Illegal production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons" and "Production and sale of narcotics".

During the operation, a search was conducted at the apartment of this citizen, where the following were found and seized as material evidence:
-2 pistol firearms with magazine clips, 3 shotguns, combat ammunition of various calibers, weapon parts, 3 pairs of binoculars (1 for the weapons), 1 drone and 8 cold weapons (knives);
-24 doses of the suspected narcotic substance Cocaine, 1 electronic scale and 6 mobile phones.

Work continues to document the criminal activity of this citizen and identify other citizens who may have been involved in these criminal activities.

The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action.
