The General Director of the Cadastre, Artan Lame, has apologized to the citizens for the case of the previous day, published in an investigative show, where the head of the Cadastre of Saranda appeared with video and audio asking for money from a citizen for legalization.

Lame said that there are many such cases of abuse, while adding that citizens should complain when they have the right, either in the regional directorates, or to him in Tirana.

"I can say that you have to be a complete idiot not to understand what is happening in recent years, in the fight against corruption. It is an isolated case and not widespread. I can say a lot of things like that, but I will not say it. I will apologize to the Albanians on behalf of the institution I lead. I will also apologize to the honest employees of the Cadastre.

Thanks also go to the media. This for the fact that the microphone gets there even when my hand does not get it. I say this because our efforts in this regard are not in question. In recent years, 8 employees have been fired in Saranda. You have not seen me go out and brag about numbers. I try to get rid of problematic people myself. 8 cases of abuse have been reported to the prosecutor's office.

Over 100 measures have been taken against the employee. All of us, from me, work in a biased sector. We are prejudiced that we work in a high risk sector. We are trying to establish order. We are prejudiced that employees are also a product of the environment in which we all live. What is happening with online services is epochal. The speed of services is changing like night and day. I address once again separately to the cadastral employees. Do not get yourself in the neck and be seduced by the rush of money. I address the citizens. "Trust the Albanian Cadastre, if you are in situations like yesterday, ask for your right by force, either in the regional directorate, or in me in Tirana", said Lame.
