A massive action by the State Police has been going on for two days in the area of ​​Dukagjin in Shkodër.

Over 20,000 cannabis sativa roots and seedlings were found and seized from this action. About 250 police forces from the local directorate of Shkodra, FNSH of Shkodra, Lezha, Fier and the RENEA forces continue intensive controls in the mountainous parts of Dukagjin.

Also, the forces of the Albanian Army have been engaged together with helicopters, specialized drones for territory control and other logistical means at the service of the police for the massive attack on cannabis plots in the Dukagjin area.

This action with nearly 250 officers from Shkodra and some other cities of Albania will continue for about a week with the aim of hitting all the drug plots.

These daily actions with increased forces are taking place within the national operation "Clean Territory" with the aim of destroying cannabis. During this operation, the police forces encountered difficulties several times due to the rugged mountainous terrain in the villages of Dukagjin.

Meanwhile, according to police information, no persons have been detained, this is because the drug growers in Dukagjin are favored by the rugged mountainous terrain and as soon as they find the police, they leave in an unknown direction without leaving a trace.

However, the police forces, assisted by RENEA and FNSH, are investigating each case to identify the perpetrators and then find and capture them.

In these first 6 months of the year, from the anti-cannabis operations carried out in the Shkodër region, police officers managed to destroy nearly 170,000 cannabis sativa roots and seedlings, as well as a quantity of processed drugs ready for the market.

The national operation "Clean Territory" will continue in the Shkodër region where, apart from Dukagjin, which is the most problematic area, the mountainous areas in Malesia e Madhe, Vau Dejës or Pukë also remain worrying.
